He also attended the Special Operation Independent Duty Corpsman course and advanced to Hospital Corpsman First Class. His deployments include Al Anbar Province, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom twice, and Helmond Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While there he served in the capacity of Platoon Corpsman, Company Leading Petty Officer, Battalion Leading Petty Officer, and Senior Medical Department Representative forward deployed. In April 2007, he reported to 2 nd Reconnaissance Battalion Camp Lejeune, N.C. During this time he was advanced to Hospital Corpsman Third and upon completion to Hospital Corpsman Second Class. In October 2004, he departed for the Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman training pipeline, attending Field Medical Service School, Camp Lejeune, N.C., Amphibious Reconnaissance Course Fort Story, Va., Marine Combatant Diver School Panama City, Fla., Basic Airborne School Fort Benning, Ga., Diving Medicine Course Panama City, Fla., and Special Operations Combat Medic Course Fort Bragg, N.C. In November 2002, he reported to his first duty station, Naval Ambulatory Care Center Groton, Conn., working as a General Duty Corpsman in Family Practice and Internal Medicine as well as a six month assignment to the base auxiliary security force. He began his naval career on 28 February 2002 at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., and attended Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Ill.
